look upon my works ye mighty and despair

since i was extremely small i've wanted to be a writer... then when i 'grew up' i had a short stint as a journalist and some magazine internships, and wrote a crappy novel for NaNoWriMo a couple of times. i'd love to write something that makes someone feel things, that's really my goal in life.

here's a list of places i've been published:

  • The Australian Times - free newspaper in london that was at least around in the early 2010s. they let me go and a review a two week european bus tour right after i graduated uni, that was pretty sweet. i also did some opinion pieces and a couple of music and theatre reviews
  • Blue-eyed Boy Bait - the first issue of Spilt Milk Mag--flash fiction and poetry. i submitted some pretentious poem called Canaries in the Cerebrum
  • SPILT MILK - second or third issue of above, mine was a semi-colon-shaped poem called... Semi-colon that i think was pretty cool
  • DIVA Magazine - a print magazine for wlw that is still going today--wild! i did a bunch of stuff for them on their blog platform when i interned, it's sadly no longer available though i also did a couple itty bitty sidebar things for the print mag. after my internship i also had a couple of erotic short stories printed: A Fitting Encounter (issue #210) and Alissa in Wonderland (issue #214).
  • g3 Magazine - free magazine for wlw in london that was around in the 2010s, i interned there and wrote some uninspired stuff. hot or not lists and that kinda thing
  • Vagabondage Press - a lil poetry/prose chapbook, my stuff was The Punk and the Princess (fiction) and a collection of spoopy sexy horror poems about shit like vampires. i was young.
  • The Girls Are - this was a music site, don't think it's up anymore. i did some album and live music reviews
  • Girls Who Fight - flash fiction/poetry booklet, mine was a poem called Geography
  • Glitterwolf Magazine - no longer available. i wrote Teeth are Ghosts that Haunt (poetry, decent) and The Yellow Dress (fiction, bad)
  • global tolerance - this was a pr company's blog and i wrote about a myriad of topics like Gay Sandwiches and The lobotomy of literature. kinda wish it was archived somewhere as i'd love to know wtf i said here
  • Gloom Cupboard - i am sooo sad this site went down as Stapler Boy (fiction) is probably the most iconic thing i ever wrote. when i was 13 lol. i still have the story though, i might host it one day when i can be bothered (choice quote: “ARGHHGHGHGHHGHGHG,” cried that little boy. “My little stapler head is throbbing!”)
  • Ink-Sweat-And-Tears - online writing magazine, i submitted XXXX, an australian-themed poem about a young woman getting fucked in the dirt and then finishing her beer, which i remember got a scathing blog review
  • Lesbilicious - online space for wlw writing, i wrote a couple opinion pieces
  • Medea Magazine - online literature magazine run by a couple of my friends from a bookshop i worked at, i wrote a short story called Lydia but then the site went down after only a few months lol. i turned it into a twine game instead, you can play here
  • Medieval Army - project by a twitch friend that quickly went offline, i wrote about The Sims 4: Cottage Living expansion and what it might mean for medieval gameplay (topic i still feel v strongly about) and a review of a game called Anvil Saga
  • Offbeat Home - wrote about pixel furniture, absolutely crazy that this is one of only two things i've written that is still live
  • Oh Comely Magazine - a short prose piece about being in love and a vegetarian, called The heart, dissected. can't remember which issue, but it was early 2010s
  • When Sally Met Sally - another wlw platform, i wrote Five Things You Shouldn’t Believe About Bisexual Women
  • Yearn for Adventure - randomly, a travel blog. i wrote a few articles on various topics like couchsurfing, the east australian coast, and urban exploration
  • Pink Paper - uk publication covering lgbt+ issues, only wrote one news piece
  • Shadowlocked - geeky online media review site, wrote a few things as a baby journalist that i kinda cringe at now but thankfully like so many others this site is no longer around
  • Vintage Fashion Blog - it's in the title. i wrote ~20 pieces on current events, how to care for vintage fashion, and a style icon series that included judy jetson and margot tenenbaum
  • Voices @ Maggie’s Centre Nottingham - this one is fairly recent comparably. i wrote Floathing (poem)--and it's still up!
  • Nerve.com - i wrote a deeply personal anonymous piece for their series that was called something like 'everyone i've ever slept with' and then asked the team to take it down because the comments were so mean :/ maybe these days i'd care a little less
  • 14x articles/reviews/poems for my uni paper that i don't want to mention bc i like to keep an air of mystery
  • 29x articles/stories/comics for neopets.com that you could look up if you really felt like it
  • i've also had my old wordpress blog quoted in a book (NEW STREET ART by Claude Crommelin) and wrote journal-style for The Magazine of the English Subject Centre at one point

note to self: i'd love to have it so that a text box with the poems i still have shows on hover but i probably need to learn css for that booooo
