i'm ditties (she/her) and i've decided on a whim to make my own site after being super inspired by the indie web! this will probably never be finished as my follow through is notoriously bad.

like a lot of my peers i originally learned how to code on neopets. unfortunately i never progressed from what my 10-year-old self learned and i don't know CSS at ALL and i want to code it all myself so we'll just see how much i can develop my skills from scratch until i get overwhelmed and abandon this forever :)

i'm no stranger to personal sites though. over my long ass time on the net i've had the following:

  • xanga (rip)
  • at least four diff livejournals
  • a bunch of diff tumblrs (still on there, until i found this place i thought it was the last safe haven away from corporations and influencers. u gotta ask for my link tho)

i also had a personal site in highschool, it was kinda a trend to have a section dedicated to your best friends, pics of yourself.. wish i could remember the name of the site everyone was using. mine also had a section about my pink umbrella named brody, telling the tragic tale of her short life.

also remembering i used to do forum post layouts for a site called girland (do NOT visit it is NO LONGER a fun safe place for tween girlies). wow it's all coming back to me now. i remember one was cow themed

i am hoping it will help me to have a silly place in which to express myself. currently i flip flop constantly through wondering whether i should return to youtube, write a novel, make a video game, go back to twitch... and don't end up doing any of it, and feel bad about it. really i just love telling stories and i think if i removed the pressure from myself i could enjoy creating things again, even silly little web pages.

4 may 2026: i've already low key lost interest in learning this css stuff......... progress on the site is gonna be slow until i can find the fun again. mostly the navigation bar is stressing me out and i have enough problems right now without making myself feel dumb for no reason
